On July 15, 2024, the U.S. Department of State (“DOS”) announced updates to more efficiently process employment-based nonimmigrant waivers for certain foreign nationals. In an effort to ease the process of obtaining a waiver of a ground of inadmissibility for foreign nationals who have graduated from colleges and universities in the US, have a job offer, and are applying for employment-based nonimmigrant visas, DOS streamlined its guidance in the Foreign Affairs Manual (“FAM”).

“Flow” by d’strict
In London’s West End, visitors can explore the various art installations at the media company Outernet, featuring installations and designs from various artists. This week we came across “FLOW,” an art performance traversing time that guides viewers through the history of Western art in a dance format. Designed by d’strict, this visual experience offers busy Londoners and tourists alike chance to pause and experience a ‘giant’ who moves through various art movements.
As the artist explains: “‘FLOW’ tells a story about the relationship between ‘the world and oneself.’ As the ‘flow' progresses, the world where our ‘giant’ once stood gradually fades away, replaced by their inner worlds. Our ‘giant’ continues to advance endlessly, questioning the relationship between the world and oneself. We hope this performance serves as a starting point that raises fundamental questions about human pursuits and increases interest in art history rather than merely presenting a self-contained narrative.”
Visitors can find the installation at The Now Building, located on Charing Cross Road.

“GRANDSLAM” by David Begbie
Photos by Protima Daryanani
After another exciting Wimbledon Championships, (Congratulations Carlos Alcaraz on the brilliant tennis in the final!!), we were reminiscing and recall this unique mesh sculpture, “GRANDSLAM” by David Begbie inside the Centre Court building.
Begbie described his desire to capture the spirit of tennis, explaining “it is the action and attention and burst of athleticism… I needed to get that sense of movement.” To bring the actions of the players to life he used steel mesh, which allows light and shadow to come through and enhance the feeling that the sculpture itself is in motion.
“GRANDSLAM” lives permanently in the Centre Court building atrium, and “resonates with the soul of The Championships past, present and future.”

“Pool Party” by Joel Mesler

Amidst the summer heat, the rink at Rockefeller Center is now a swimming pool. Well, a sort of swimming pool.
Until July 21st, explore artist Joel Mesler’s newest public art exhibit, a printed vinyl “pool” that has taken over Rockefeller Center. Mesler was inspired to create this fun interactive installation by memories of childhood pool parties, and used his signature water motif as the pool, a design that appears in many of his art pieces.
Flanked by flags and props, which read with joyful phrases such as “hope,” “love,” “hugs,” and “us”, the pool party is not to be missed, sparking some of that summertime joy to all who visit!
