In the spirit of the season, we came together for our annual holiday breakfast—a time to reflect, celebrate, and enjoy one another’s company. With delicious treats, festive cheer, and a lively gift exchange, we shared moments of joy while looking ahead with hope and gratitude. We are deeply thankful for our wonderful clients and colleagues who bring meaning and joy to our work every day. From all of us at Daryanani Law Group, we wish you a magical holiday season filled with wonder and warmth. We will resume posts on January 10, 2025. Safe travels and happy holidays!
Holiday Lights
The holiday season is upon us, and with it the annual light displays that have become a favorite tradition are enveloping us. This week we explored light displays across New York and London, enjoying the twinkling lights at some of our favorite destinations. In New York we enjoyed gorgeous displays of hot air balloons and stars at Hudson Yards and Columbus Circle. In London, we were greeted by the ever gorgeous angel hovering above Regent Street and a light display at The Shard. We hope everyone is able to take a moment and enjoy the magical displays that welcome us all to celebrate the season. Take the advice of the London Underground and care for yourself this holiday season!
The Origami Holiday Tree
In keeping the spirit of the Holiday Season going, we decided to visit the craftiest tree in NYC! The Origami Holiday tree housed at the American Museum of Natural History is truly a work of art. Every year, a holiday tree is crafted out of beautiful Origami figures based on a chosen theme. This year the theme was “Proboscideans on Parade” to coincide with the museum’s new exhibition The Secret World of Elephants. Created in partnership with Origami USA, the American national society devoted to origami, the art of paperfolding, this tree is made of over a thousand of intricately crafted models of elephant and elephant-relatives such as the Woolly Mammoth. Lucky for all holiday decor and origami lovers out there, this exhibit is still open to see until Jan 15!
Regent Street Lights : The Spirit of Christmas
Happy Holidays from London’s Regent Street! Crafted by the design company, James Glancy Design Ltd, also known as “the secret force behind Christmas”, the lights include 45 large-scale angels or "spirits" playing trumpets. The captivating layout and design of the Regent Street lights draws inspiration from the original lights that graced the street in 1954. No matter where this Holiday Season takes you, may you be surrounded by the glow of lights, family, and friends! From our family to yours, Happy Holidays!
Happy Holidays from DLG!
In the spirit of the holidays and the wonderful winter weather, we gathered for a delightful breakfast. While enjoying our meal and engaging in personalized DLG bingo and word search games, we cherished the true virtue of this special time of year: gratitude. We feel immense appreciation for our truly extraordinary clients and our dedicated staff who work tirelessly to keep everything running smoothly. From all of us at Daryanani Law Group, we wish you a joyous and delightful holiday season!
Bryant Park Winter Village
Here in the US, we are celebrating Thanksgiving! For many, this marks the start of the holiday season. In New York City, businesses and public parks are getting ready for the holidays. Every year, Bryant Park, adjacent to the New York Public Library in Midtown Manhattan, fills to the brim with festive shops. At the center of the park, visitors take advantage of the cold weather and go ice skating on the park’s rink. From friends skating circles around each other, to couples holding hands, and kids just learning to balance, the ice rink is a hit. The Winter Village is full of both tourists and native New Yorkers, all enjoying the frosty air and the excitement of the holiday season. It’s the perfect place to shop for unique and beautiful gifts for loved ones, or to simply sip hot chocolate and enjoy the festive atmosphere.
Happy Diwali!
The Holidays at Hudson Yards
On a chilly day this week we checked out the incredible holiday light display at Hudson Yards. More than two million white lights are featured throughout the shops, the Vessel (which has extended holiday hours), the Edge observation deck, and the outdoor areas. With Hanukkah starting this week, Hudson Yards is also celebrating with traditional sweets and treats and arts and craft activities. If you go, be sure to social distance and wear a mask!
DLG Holiday Party 2019
We held our annual holiday party at the Institute of Culinary Education (aka ICE, but not to be confused with the other ICE) in downtown Manhattan again this year, and the results were as fun and delicious as always. As before, we chose a seasonal menu and divided up into groups to work at three different food stations to make the appetizer, main dish, and dessert. Although a few of us were skeptical to begin with (ahem, Alexis on the far right), enabled by the pink champagne, we quickly become experts in our chosen specialty, (see Alexis presenting the cooked fish and Tommy inspecting the group’s efforts,) resulting in a memorable meal. We are truly talented cooks. Okay, we also had some (very) valuable help from Chef Phil Hering and his skilled team. Happy holidays, everyone!
Happy Holidays from DLG!
For our final post of the year on our blog we thought we’d close out with our view from outside our office windows. That’s right, we get to stare at the Empire State Building and (sometimes) the moon every day! Don’t worry, we’ll be back in January with lots of fresh content. Please note our office will be closed for the holidays on December 24th, 25th, 26th, and 31st. We will also be closed on January 1st, 2019. We wish everyone a wonderful rest of 2018 and a Happy New Year!
