Trump Administration Pauses Immigration Applications for Travelers From Restricted Countries

On December 2, 2025, United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (“USCIS”) paused processing of several types of immigration applications, including asylum, green cards, and citizenship requests,  for individuals from 19 countries previously restricted under the administration’s updated travel policies while USCIS conducts additional security reviews. The decision comes after an Afghan national, who had been granted humanitarian parole into the United States based on his work with CIA counterterrorism unit in Afghanistan after the fall of Kabul, and subsequently granted asylum in April 2025, under the Trump administration, was identified as the  November 26th shooter in Washington, D.C., that killed one National Guard member and left another in critical condition.

USCIS Texas Service Center (TSC) Moved to a New Address On June 26

The US Citizenship & Immigration Services (USCIS) Texas Service Center (TSC) moved to a new address on June 26, 2020. USCIS states that the new facility will "help streamline processes by consolidating operations in the new location" and that the TSC "will continue to provide prompt and efficient service in processing requests for immigration benefits." Although the move was scheduled for June 26, USCIS could not accept mail at the new address until Monday, June 29. The updated address for the service center is:

Those filing cases with the TSC should consult the filing address pages on USCIS.gov to find the specific address information, including suite numbers, that applicants should include when they are submitting. USCIS also adds a reminder that service centers do not provide in-person services, conduct interviews, or receive walk-in applications or petitions or questions.

According to new data from US Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS), denials for numerous immigration applications and petitions have significantly increased over the past fiscal year. In the first nine months of Fiscal Year (FY) 2018, denials for numerous immigration benefits have increased 37% since FY 2016.
