As we welcome the holiday season, this weekend marks the celebration of Diwali, the Festival of Lights, observed by millions around the world for five days. We kicked off our own Diwali celebrations a little early this year with “Flavors of Bollywood,” an unforgettable evening hosted by acclaimed Chefs Maneet Chauhan and Vijay Kumar. The event was a feast for the senses, filled with vibrant music, traditional dance, and an incredible selection of food. We sampled everything from classic Indian street food to regional specialties, enjoyed a little wine, and even visited a table inspired by a beloved tradition in southern India, featuring an astrologer and a parrot fortune teller!
Beyond the food and festivities, Diwali carries a beautiful message: the triumph of good over evil, knowledge over ignorance, and light over darkness. It is a message that feels especially meaningful right now, a timely reminder of the importance of hope and light we can bring to one another. We are grateful for an evening filled with wonderful food, culture, and company, and wish everyone celebrating a joyful and meaningful Diwali!
